First time poster here, thout I'd see what reddit take is.

I'm looking for a 2nd hand 4x4 - for play and daily. So far I've narrowed it down to either a hilux or a dmax. Ideally auto (I can drive manual but I want to murder ****s in my auto in traffic as it is)

Looking at either a v6 petrol because I like having a few spare ponies, a Lux diesel or the dmax.

My budget is about 15k (some wiggle room there).

I've been tossing up just getting an older ('98-'05) Lux for under 10 and spending the rest on gear and upgrades. Mate reckons it's worth getting the comfort of newer w more features (cruise control, abs etc etc)

Any hot takes or things to watch out for?
