Alright you engine swap gurus. I need some help.

So I bought a donor truck ('76 Chevy/350/SM465/NP205) to swap drive train into my 88 Toyota. From what I've been able to find I'm going to run into issues with the length of the SM465. It seems as though it will be much too short. Placing the shifter too close to the firewall. Anyone know a way to relocate the shifter or ....or do any of you live in the northern California area that has an nv3500/4500??? Any suggestions are appreciated. BTW money is a factor here. I'm not a rich guy.
