Suzuki Vitara Allgrip 4WD not actually 4WD?

I had my heart set on buying a used 2020 Suzuki Vitara Boosterjet Allgrip, as I understood this vehicle has 4WD. Then I realized, it doesn't have a way to change from 2WD to 4WD, it just has 4 modes: auto, snow, sport, and lock.
Edit: will driving on soft sand in lock mode be the same as with a true 4x4?
