I need some help y'all! I have a 2015 Jeep Rubicon 4-dr. It has a 3.5" lift with Mickey Thompson LT315/70R17 tires. Tires are around 30 psi now but we're 35 in warmer weather at lower elevation. The tires have close to 60k miles and will be replaced soon, but still have tread.
I am in Tahoe and we got a few inches of cold snow quickly. I was coming down a fairly steep snow covered paved (not plowed) road and could not maintain control. I spun out multiple times. There were other vehicles around and spun out so I had to brake to keep the speed down to weave the spin outs. One time I was in a straight slide towards 2 vehicles and they both had to reverse down the hill to avoid collision. I was pumping the brakes and regained control steering into the slide, but it was intense.
Any tips for things I can do to maintain better traction in steep snowy conditions?
