Best Settings for download Youtube videos

im new to all this so im wondering what is the best possible settings and formats I should use to download videos off YouTube with 4K Video Downloader. Is MKV/VP9 the best possible quality or is it MP4/AAC ? i would greatly appreciate it if someone could please help me figure this out because some formats i noticed have higher file size but idk if that means better quality.
