Hello,
I am looking to replace my beloved 60" plasma LG from 2011 (LG 60 PK990). I am very pleased it with it, but now I am looking for something which is at least 80". The TV is only used for watching Blu-Ray Discs. Once every 6 months we might watch a DVD or something in HDTV, if we can't find it on Blu-Ray. I am using a Nvidia Shield via HDMI to stream the content.
Basically, I am looking for a budget solution (less than 2.000 USD / EUR) which delivers at least the same results qualitywise as my plasma tv and is much bigger and able to support 4k. Still, most of the content I am going to play is in 1080p, but there aren't any decent 1080p TVs which are bigger than 80". What would be the top contenders in this price category?
One of the cheapest options would be the LG 86UN85006LA. However everybody on reddit advises against this model. So, what are much better alternatives and why?
Thank you very much for your support!
