I was hoping to pull in some perspective on the two 75'' TVs I am considering. Based on the RTings ratings (the numbers are always so similar) I am really struggling to put one of these bad boys ahead of the other. Pushing to grab one after CES so I can throw a sick Super Bowl party in my new place.
Primary Options:
Sony XBR-75X850F ($1,600-1,700)
Vizio P75-F1 ($1,600-1,700)
Basically the same price so I was planning on just going with whatever was cheaper going into the super bowl with the goal of scoring one at or below $1,500 which was my initial target.
Environment: Viewing distances range from 15'-24', viewing angle can range up to 25-50 degrees (big room) but I plan to wall mount it to help with the image degradation. I have a large arched window so it can get a little bright if the curtains are not pulled and i have a 30 panel nanoleaf mounted on the opposite wall which might reflect.
Uses: Primarily gaming and movies but my girlfriend likes to watch soccer and football. Might use it for some rolling pictures or electronic art during parties.
Alternative Option:
Thoughts... on the Sony XBR-75X900E. Seems to only have a slightly lower rtings rating than the Sony XBR-75X900F but I am seeing the XBR-75X900E at around $1,300. Where as the 75X-900F is around $2,400.
Is the 900E worth considering. I have the money to spend but 1k is 1k, being a young adult I should try and be a little responsible. Would rather save the money to buy some stocks when the economy tanks later this year.
Looking forward to your perspectives, insights, and debates! I really do appreciate it! (My second ever post on Reddit!)
Stoked to upgrade from my 50'' Vizio from two years ago. Will follow up with pics after the install of this critical last piece of my living room!
PS - Someone at work told me that TV at Costco are of lower quality than from other distributors. I was highly skeptical so I thought I would toss that out for some feedback.
