Hey there,
Just wanted to post this to add to the chorus of folks who have had success with this diet.
At my heaviest, fattest, unhealthiest, I was eating nothing but pasta, candy, fast food, pizza, and basically everything else that is bad for you.
I had adopted this mindset since childhood that because I had a "fast metabolism" I could just eat whatever the hell I wanted. Not true!
Anyway, the before/after pics are here. However, it's worth noting the vast majority of the fat loss occurred in the first 2 months, though my After pic is a bit over a year later.
But, perhaps the best aspect of the SCD for me was after doing it strictly for ~6 months, it totally changed how I saw food, and what foods I craved. I basically lost most taste for sugar foods, drinks, and candy. So even after not being on the diet strictly anymore, I've been able to maintain roughly the same weight/body composition for about 3 years now (floating around 145-150lbs -- I gained a bit of muscle since 2019 as well).
So yeah, it was really hard to do the diet at first, but it was the only one that worked for me.
This is basically what I ate (I suck at cooking Lol):
Breakfast: 6 large eggs, scrambled
Lunch: Lettuce wrap sandwich, bowl of chili
Dinner: Hamburgers (no bun), steak, or sausages, with a salad, vegetable and another bowl of chili or different bean dish
Snacks: Almonds, and peanut butter with celery in moderation
