Hello guys,
Had my 2019 4runner since brand new, unfortunately i bought 1 year before they finally added android auto - and im stuck with the absolutely garbage entune.
I have been looking at my options to upgrade the head unit and nothing really stands out.
Ideally id like wireless android auto, but i would concede to wired if needed.
I have known about the chinese 'knock-off' head units that run about ~$500 and are essentially an unlocked android unit which you can do anything with, even play emulators and stuff (not that i care about that, just a sign of how open the device is).
However, it with IOT devices and data mining - connecting my phone which has my literal life on it, to a device that is probably reporting to Chairman Mao, kinda concerns me. Maybe this is misplaced paranoia?
Just looking for some advice because i literally dont even touch or use my head unit at all because entune is garbage.
