Said goodbye to our 2014 sr5 yesterday so my wife could have her new odyssey. Dealer hooked up the scanner and tried stating that the ECM was going to need replaced. I’ve never had an issue and had no check engine light.

Already bummed about letting her go. But at 215k, the area around the lift gate latch had completely rusted through to the point JB Weld couldn’t save it temporarily and the lift gate need replaced. I did call the dealers bluff and said I’ll hook up my verus to see if I get the same reading. They figured out I had meticulously kept up with all the maintenance myself with records along with the performed TSBs. Ended up getting what I paid for it 3.5 years ago so it did work out.

So now I’m on the hunt for another 4Runner to keep miles off my Tundra Trd pro. Should I go after a 3rd,4th or a early 5th gen?
