I've had a couple people ask me how to know if someone is just messing with them and so here are a few tips on how to stay safe.
Don't reveal your location until they give you their location. Most scammers will wait for you to say, so they can match your nearest city.
Ask them questions that require a lengthy answer. Most scammers won't waste much time talking about deeper topics.
Ask them for a live snap. I've never met a scammer who can fake a live pic on snap and their profiles always seem newer (because scammers get banned a lot)
Ask them straight up if they're selling.
If they mention hotels, drugs or you buying them anything. They are most likely fake or someone who will give you stds.
