A question on Space Marines;

So I was thinking earlier, what happens to a new Space Marine that becomes mortally wounded in his first or second engagement after being promoted from scout? Would they still inter him in Dreadnought armor? Let's say he can't be saved otherwise. I can't recall reading anything about this in the lore and it's been bugging me a little bit. Anyone know?
