Question about Banishing Daemons

I am new to WH40k. It says to be able banish Daemons you need to know there true names. To recover from banishment takes aeons, unless there is help from the chaos gods? But does this mean if he were to face their enemies again…. They know his name already…. Also does this apply to daemon princes too? How exactly does this work, please educate me.
