I actually wrote this before I played my first few tabletop games, so looking back I'd probably change a few things. But since it's been rejected anyway, I don't mind sharing it.
Essentially the story sets out to give a purpose to the Covenant of Fire, a successor chapter to the Salamanders who had little knowledge of the source of their gene seed and little sense of purpose. But, Salamanders being Salamanders, they decided to show them the way.
The story involves a small squad in search of a lost repository of knowledge on a derelict AdMech space station, where a magos was doing research into genetic memory and information compression and transference. Spoiler alert: He succeeded, and it caused a ton of problems (AdMech in a nutshell). He managed to stuff petabytes of information into a fractal glyph that has the unfortunate effect of unpacking its entire contents onto the mind of whoever views the glyph along with a compulsion to reproduce it.
Why yes, I do also love SCP, why do you ask?
