I have a handgun I like (though perhaps not ideal for competition, it'll do). I have a decent AR. I do not, however, have a shotgun. Sadly for me, my local club doesn't run a tactical rifle shoot, just 3 gun.
So I need a shotgun.
Based on my reading, I'm looking for a semiautomatic, which will accept choke tubes. I'd like to keep it under $1000. I'm seriously considering the Mossberg 930 JM edition. Was also at Cabelas the other day and played around with the Stoeger Model 3000 competition shotgun. I was impressed with the smoothness of the action. Sadly, Cabelas being huge and corporate, they wouldn't let me try the trigger.
Between those two, which way would you guys go? Or is there a better option I haven't considered? Much as I'd love a Benelli, that just ain't in the budget right now.
