Let's Draw a Pen yo!
Post Body

Hi 3dsmax subreddit community! I wanted to reach out to my fellow autodidacts out there. If you are like me, you prefer to learn through creation rather than by lecture. Lectures are great for when you want to know something specific, but I prefer the general trial-and-error method. It is my humble opinion that if you are only learning what works and not learning what doesn't work, you are only getting half the lesson.

One thing that I feel we are missing out on by not being in a classroom environment is.. we do not have coordinated assignments. Coordinated assignments would allow us to work through the same problems and draw inspiration from each other.

Therefore, I wanted to post simple objects to make every couple of days. And, I invite everyone of every skill level to model the same object and post it in the comments.

Join me in drawing a pen. https://imgur.com/a/aGW75

edit -- any kind of pen. whatever is in front of you. it doesn't need a cap unless you want to take on that challenge. Hints: 1. I made the body and cap from 2 cylinders. 2. Used Viewport Canvas in Tools Dropdown to write on paper.
