I have very recently started to consider playing around with my 3DS to try and get some NES/SNES games on it. In reading around different sources I understand this used to be much simpler before firmware 11.3, but unfortunately my 3DS is showing that I am running 11.6.0.39U. It appears most information I have found has been fragmented or intended for someone that has had experience with hacking a 3DS before.
I have found references to using Ninjhax 2.9 or Freakyhax which further investigation appears that each of these methods require a seperate game to be purchased. I have also read a little bit in passing about firmware hacking, but that has been vague references at best.
From the standpoint of a beginner to this whole process, which is the best/easiest method of hacking my 3DS in order to run an emulator for retro gaming? Also what method is most widely accepted to emulate retro games?
Would also be great if anyone knew the pros/cons of each of the currently available methods out there.
Thanks in advance.
