So I'm joining a campaign that is currently at level 7 right now. I'll be playing a firbolg light cleric and didn't roll too bad on my stats. 10/15/15/10/18/9 are my stats after racial bonuses. I'll be taking Resilient (CON) for my level 4 feat to make my con 16, and at level 8 I'll be maxing wisdom.
So here's the question, my DM is a fan of giving out what she terms *mid-tier* feats rather than just picking any feat. She said I can pick a free feat to start off with that "doesn't have an ability score increase and isn't considered a *top-tier feat* like war caster, sharpshooter, great weapon master, etc". She did mention that if I was willing to take off the ASI of a half feat that I felt I **had to have** and it wasn't Observant, Keen Mind or Skill Expert then we could discuss possibilities.
A free feat is better than no feat so I'm appreciative for that but I kind of don't know what to pick here. War caster and observant are off the table, and I already have resilient CON so the only idea I had left was Elemental Adept for fire damage. I thought Gift of the Metallic Dragon might be cool. I know the wings will be competing for my reaction with warding flare but I thought it could still be helpful, plus cure wounds will just always be prepared now.
Outside of those two, I don't really have any other ideas. I tried looking up past posts for feat ideas but everyone always puts War caster/Resilient/Observant/Elemental Adept, could anyone suggest me some other feat ideas that still could be useful? Or make a case as to why Elemental Adept would be better than Gift of the Metallic Dragon and vice versa?
