Hi all,
I was thinking of building a character with multiple health bars to mimic those epic bosses of old we all saw in older video games.
I thought of the following build:
Level 7 Rune Knight / 2 Abjuration/ X whatever
As both grant:
At lvl 7 rune knight: "Cloud rune: when you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to invoke the rune and choose a different creature within 30 feet of you, other than the attacker. The chosen creature becomes the target of the attack, using the same roll. This magic can transfer the attack's effects regardless of the attack's range"
"Hill rune. you can invoke the rune as a bonus action, gaining resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage for 1 minute."
Temp HP: The false life spell/ The motivational speaker feat
X Abjuration: "When you cast an abjuration spell of 1st level or higher, you can simultaneously use a strand of the spell's magic to create a magical ward on yourself that lasts until you finish a long rest. The ward has hit points equal to twice your wizard level your Intelligence modifier. Whenever you take damage, the ward takes the damage instead. If this damage reduces the ward to 0 hit points, you take any remaining damage."
Now,
After trying different levels of combos of just these two classes being multiclassed, I was wondering what would be a great level 20 build that optimised the best granting of HP (from base classes) extra barriers of hp and temp hp.
Of course if you can think of a way to find better, especially more efficient, ways of combining a multiclass that is effective throughout a life of a campaign, that would be fantastic.
I hope you all can give me some fantastic advice on what you all recommend as some choices are obvious, but what isn't clear of me is the optimal path to combine these all together.
I have no quams on what the final build looks like or if it is min/ maxed for damage. My priority here is survivability and offsetting damage in the form of different sources of hp as much as possible throughout the day.
I gathered a bear barbarian could be effective but I was curious to build something going down this route for something unique.
If I have missed anything that I needed to clarify, please let me know and I'll do my best to answer.
