I've gotten some great advice here on character builds in the past so I figured I'd bring my question back to this sub. I recently got added as the 5th person to a party that will be tackling Curse of Strahd. I have never played this module and don't want any spoilers, though I can assume there will be some undead (duh). The current party makeup is as follows:
-Oath of the Crown Paladin
-Light Cleric
-Phantom Rogue
-Scribes Wizard
There are some restrictions on what kind of character I can play: I can't double up on any current player's class, so not another paladin or cleric. I can't multiclass into another class another person is currently playing. No variant humans or custom lineage. All current WOTC and Critical role material is allowed.
With the current makeup and those restrictions in mind, do you guys have any ideas on what classes you would play? I think this party could use another martial focused character, though I would like to have a strong charisma score here too. I thought maybe just a straight up hexblade (super original, I know) or maybe a swords bard with a hex dip? I also really like the Fey Wanderer ranger for it's wisdom addition to charisma checks. I guess a gloomstalker could work too. Any ideas?
