Hi all,
I had a thought the other day that wouldn't it be fun to build a focus on a martial focused swordsman?
I thought about it and came to the conclusion that following subclasses would be great as having included in the core build:
- battlemaster - for the addition of maneuvers
- swords bard - for the addition of flourishes which goes well with battlemaster
Now I though that either adding a gloomstalker or hunter here would add additional optional damage through hunters mark and their subclass level 3 features.
I also thought if necessary, either a monk or frenzy barbarian would add a bonus action attack too to add extra attacks as so many multiclasses would delay extra attack (lvl 5) but you get additional bonuses from those classes.
Now I know rangers and bard a bit of spell casting but I am overlooking that as just extras. My focus is primarily martial ability and the functionality of adding technique to my attacks.
I would probably go custom lineage for the battle master feat and the fighting style that grants another to get another few meneuvers.
The extra damage from all the subclasses should compensate for the delayed extra attack i feel.
What is the best build you could come up with up to level 20 with these options, also considering a build that would be fun as you progress?
