I need some serious help. I've waisted over a one and a half kilograms of PLA trying to print parts of a shied for a cosplay. The print keeps warping after about a day into the print. Its a fairly large print and takes about two days to print each part.
At first I thought it was because the nozzle was knocking it loose, so I rotated it so it's no longer printing higher. Didn't work Then I thought it was maybe because I was trying g to print two parts at once, so I tried only one. Didn't work. The I remembered that I had an issue with PLA warping with my Ender 3 (currently trying g to print parts on a Chiron) when the bed is too warm. I was printing at 60 degrees, so I turned it down to 35. And even that didn't work...
Seriously. What am I doing wrong? Why does it keep warping? The last print didn't warp as badly, but still warped enough to mess it up. I belive the settings were: Nozzle: 230 Bed: 35 Speed:75 ( but it isn't capable of moving that fast so it moves WAY slower) Adhesion: Brim Fan speed:100% (I think) It's not in an enclosed (since it's such a large printer), so it is exposed to the air inside the house, which is around about 70-ish. I can get more data on the settings tomorrow. Does anybody have any ideas why or any potential solutions? Should I just buy some double sided tape? I really don't like using tape but at this point... I'm already out by about 30 bucks on waisted filament from failed prints...
Update: I made a makeshift and suspect looking enclosure... it should help trap some of the heat in and keep some of the cold out (hopefully...) i also bought some glue sticks, adjusted the AC a bit, and am trying again. Hopefully it'll work out this time. I'll let yall know Sunday!
