Glue stick manufacturing inconsistency?
Post Body

Since switching to a borosilicate bed, I've been using Elmer's purple "disappearing" glue stick as an adhesion aide when printing ABS. Recently I bought a 3 pack to replace a stick that was running out and the new stuff just does not work at all. The previous stick I had worked amazingly and I was at near 100% success printing solid infill parts without any lifting. The new sticks are at nearly a 100% failure rate, with every single print lifting like crazy on the sides and corners, even with a large brim/skirt. Nothing else changed, but the new stuff just doesn't bond to the glass or plastic nearly as well as before.

I'm guessing the formula changed slightly, they changed manufacturers, or maybe they have a lot of batch to batch variance? Anyone else out there using the Elmer's purple stuff notice this?

I've tried ABS slurry (didn't like it; messy, smelly, and didn't work as great as everyone said it would) and I also didn't like hairspray for the same reasons.

I guess I need to find another PVA glue to try.
