Why are the ANYCUBIC and ELEGOO mini activated carbon air purifiers battery powered?

To be clear I do not do resin printing but I thought I might throw these outside of my printer but in my closet where I have my X1C set up for an additional sense of security while 3D printing. The compact size and the fact that they use activated carbon is very attractive to me. Is it overkill? Im not printing ABS or ASA so almost 100% sure it is but hey, it's my health. Why not.

What confuses me is both of these options are battery powered? As though they expect you to charge them and set them loose rather than just keeping them plugged into power which is personally what I would prefer to do.

So can these be ran directly plugged into power? Is there a reason them being battery powered would be attractive feature to people working with resin? What am I missing?
