Question about upgrades/reusing parts

Hey all, I have a (quite old now) sunhokey i3 (aliexpress) special that was bought as a kit, had a few upgrades done to it by it's previous owner (different hotend and printed supports to further stabilise the vertical axis), As I'm not well versed in printing yet, but consider myself quite handy,
- How far is would it be viable to upgrade this machine without spending too much money on it. I would at least try to get a modern prusa spec frame (and printed parts) and heatbed, at the very least,
Or;
- How many of the components would be viable to use in a corexy build (specifically the model by Jasonatepaint, UM2 clone) I have the frame built out of extrusion and printed parts but no other components.
