Hi all,
I find that I’ve gotten deep enough into the hobby that I’ve got some interesting challenges around inventory management — I have many consumables on hand, and I’d like to track what I actually have. Right now, the husband and I share a spread sheet which is ok. What do other folks do? Have you found off the shelf solutions which work particularly well for you? What did you like / hate about those solutions?
The reason I’m asking is I feel that for me, this problem has gotten just complicated enough that something like a very carefully tailored hobbyist ERM/ERP system could be very useful. If I decide to build that, I’d like to know what sorts of features would get other folks excited enough to want to help contribute to an open source project so that the community can benefit.
Right now, I’m thinking in the October-Print style direction — something that can run on a RPi somewhere and give a nice clean web gui. I want to make it easy to find filament by appearance, material properties, etc. as well as eventually tracking what filaments went into which prints.
