Game Getting Monotonous To Anyone?

I've been a big fan of the game for 6 years and have met some really incredible people online, but these days it just seems to be getting monotonous and lacking depth. Every time a good update comes along I jump back in for a few months but they are few and far between.
Anyone else feeling the same way? Is there another game or online platform to connect with people to have similar fun?
