The original NDS is one of my favorite systems ever, handheld or console. I actually bought a 2DS XL to play NDS and GBA games for the most part. However, with the 3DS library... I just haven't found much that has wowed me in the same way. I mean, Mario 3D Land and Code of Princess were pretty great, and there are a few other good games (mostly remakes from other platforms though), but much of the 3DS library just feels... kind of disposable, I guess. Like slightly better than mobile gaming kind of offerings.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I still find NDS games to be fantastic, to the point I purchased a DSi XL recently to have a handheld dedicated for them (and without the fuzzy screen scaling with the 2DS XL).
I know (or at least assume) there are great games on the 3DS but nothing on the platform is really grabbing me, and the games that do are ones I've already played and are just remakes/remasters (Radiant Historia, Tetris, Zelda OoT, etc.). I also feel that few games take advantage of the unique features of the 3DS with the touch screen, mic, and dual display as well as they did on the original NDS.
I end up spending most of my gaming time on the 3DS emulating retro platforms or playing NDS and GBA with their native support on it, and for me that's the main way the platform shines.
What am I missing?
