Animal Crossing New Leaf Question

I played the first Animal Crossing when it first came out and loved it. I played it religiously every day for about a year. I enjoyed it a lot. Around the one year mark, I all of a sudden got really sick of it and just couldn't play anymore.
Is this game different enough that I can rejuvenate my love for the series? Or is it similar enough that I might get sick of it again really quickly?
