e^iπ - Grant referring to this as a "cheat"
Post Body

Hey everyone,

I recently recalled that, I believe it was once in the lockdown videos, Grant referred to the famous equality e - 1 = 0 and said that he does not like this formula too much because there is too much emphasis on the number e because e is just there because it is the exponential function evaluated at x=1. He then made an argument that you could also have done this above equality with other numbers, so it is really nothing special about the number i.

I understand the basic argument, I think, but I would like to revisit his argument. I think it was in one of the 10 lockdown videos, but I cannot really recall where and which one. If any of you has a better recollection and can pinpoint me to where he argued this, that'd be great!
