How to update a fairly ancient RGH mod?

So a friend recently showed me his 360 running Aurora and how it finds Title Updates on its own and everything. My 360s was RGH modded ages ago by someone else, so I don't really know anything about it.

What I do know:

I have xexmenu 1.2 installed like an XBLA title. And then FSD3 can be accessed in xexmenu for disc-based titles (XBLA stuff shows up in the GAMES portion of the standard dashboard).

I'm on:

Dashboard 2.0.16537.0 K: 2.0.16537.0 (BK2. 0.1888.0)

What I'd like to know:

How do I get as up to date as I should be dashboard-wise, and how do I go from this xexmenu/fsd3 setup to aurora?
