Hello! I am getting older (31F) and it is winter so I am noticing my powder foundation doesn't look as nice on my moisture lacking skin. Looking for suggestions on foundations/bb or cc cream/tinted moisturizer or routine changes to bolster antiaging and my low maintenance, makeup routine. I am pale skinned with a cool to neutral undertone.
So I typically have combination skin (oilier in the summer, drier in the winter, slightly sensitive). However as I am pale skinned and noticing neck wrinkles, crows feet I decided that antiaging is something I should focus on more. I have used otc retinol from ROC for a year or so but wasn't impressed. I gave curology a shot and was prescribed 0.005 (yes that is correct) tretonin. So far I have been using it every other night and I am in my first ten days of use. My skin is already dry because of winter and I have noticed my skin has been slightly irritated, especially near the corners of my eyes where the skin is reddened.
I have been using the curology mositurizer before applying tretonin. On nights I am not using tretonin I apply The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid serum to a damp face then allow it to dry down before applying FAB Ultra Repair Hydra-firm night cream. I usually run a humidifer at night as well. In the mornings I mostly just use La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Cleanser or just lukewarm water.
I don't wear much makeup, but when I do I stick with Bare Minerals Barepro Performance Wear Powder Foundation in sateen and Benefit's Cakeless Concealer. These are both solid products that havw worked for me well the last two years. I usually just apply the concealer with clean fingers under my eyes and use ecotools retractable face brush to apply powder (open to suggestions on another method of application). Under my makeup, or even if I choose not to wear makeup that day I wear EltaMD UV clear sunscreen (I LOVE IT).
Thoughts/Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
