Z31 in a Barn
Post Body

Hi all,

As the title suggests, I was out dropping the dog off for a stay at the kennels and the rear end of a z31 caught my eye from a shed out in the middle of farm country.

I'm a real fan of 80's Japanese cars, I currently have a Nissan EXA and a 280 or 300 was the next vehicle on my list to purchase and restore.

The car appears on Google maps photos a few years earlier in the exact same position so would suggest it's been sitting for quite a while.

I've read through a few guides which suggest checking for seals, rust, etc round Targa tops, sills, rear hatch etc. If anyone has a point list of things to look for as a Z31 owner it would be appreciated. I'll keep looking through this sub for more tips.

In short - What would be a deal breaker condition wise?

Daughters little fluffy white thing. It pisses everywhere but I may forgive it if this car is a goer.

I will definitely take the advice. I've been through the spare parts circus with the N13 Exa I have so will go check it out with an open mind and walk away if it's too much of a wreck.

This is an excellent guide. Thanks

Yeah I have a feeling that might be the case. My Wad of cash would be small for this exact reason. I'm probably not going to be able to get some photos until I engage the owner. I agree it's not going to be the barn dream, probably what I was looking for from the post is something like "If you look under X and there's a big rust hole in Y then it's scrap!" or something similar.

Nope. Just going to knock on their door with a wad of cash.
