I was about to buy bulk AAC plinking ammo from PSA that comes out to around $0.65 per round after tax and shipping.
Then I decided to look into getting setup with reloading to reduce costs. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but from what I calculated using the cheapest .30 cal rifle bullets, primers, powder, and fired once brass (I haven't saved enough brass yet to reload that many of my own spent casings), it came out to around $0.75 per round.
Has the universe finally found balance with 300 Blk ammo or do I just need to look at specific online shops to get reloading costs below regular ammo prices?
I completely agree with the recoil piece. But shouldn’t adding a suppressor also reduce recoil to where it’s not as noticeable?
True. What’s also not available to many people are confidence courses that allow you to work on footwork or double tapping. Most indoor ranges I’ve been to, don’t allow rapid fire or double tap. So I just stick with what I know. Training with what you have already has you a step above the bad guy, unless the bad guy is outfitted with Swat Gear.
I just bought Winchester 147gr $19/20rds. 5.56 is cheaper to shoot for me. Came out to .75¢/rd
I’m going to invest in a 22LR to plink. Rifle mechanics and fundamentals are the same across the board. My plan is to shoot 20yrds or so, and enjoy plinking. Then maybe once a quarter shoot my 300Blk for proficiency.
