Growing up, I was told that I was 100% Chinese but more often than not, I was asked if I was either Korean, Japanese, Thai or Eurasian.
When I did the test, my results came out as only 70% Chinese, 16% Mongolian and 14% Japanese... I wasn't TOO surprised about the Japanese since my grandma was given away at birth (pre-WW2) so even though she grew up Chinese, not much was known about her real family.
However, is anyone familiar enough with Asian history to let me know if there was anything going on in history that would suggest a significant percentage of Mongolian and Japanese (especially Mongolian) DNA in me? Or really, just a significant amount of foreign DNA when there was no recorded racial mixing in my immediate family...?
