Hello everyone! So I wanted to clarify some hot topics as of recent.
The Map: A lot of new players have asked questions about the map. The most commonly asked is "Why is there so much white"? White means that land is unclaimed. Colored means that land is claimed to the corresponding nation. The map is updated usually by /u/JermanTK (thanks!).
Unclaimed countries and conflicts:
Okay so recently, a few nations have declared war and tried to invade nations that have no player, like Japan and Belize.
In those situations, myself or Ekez will simply roleplay as the nation for only the duration of the invasion/conflict. This does not mean you can simply claim the land that is white on the map (psst Japan). There are people living there, you will have to persuade or kill them for the land, like life. A lot of nations have also taken up defending these NPC countries regardless, so honestly just don't fookin' do it. I mean ya can, but know it's not as easy as one would assume.
Conflicts in general: One thing written in the rules, but not the military post, is that you must have a Casus Belli for an invasion. This IS a roleplay sub still, we have a fine blend of realism and player created history. No nation merely walks into another one for no reason. Sure at the time it happens it'll seem unexpected and no where but EVERY nation has their motives. /u/TwistTheCat gets a shoutout for using a casus belli on his post :)
If you are in an alliance and your alliance declares war, not every member needs one just whoever is coordinating the attack.
If you're attacked, you obviously do not need one.
If you want to also invade a nation already under conflict as a third party or possibly an ally, you need to declare you are ____'s ally and your Casus Belli, since we don't know you all are allies, it only makes sense for you to declare it then.
Sorry about any confusion, remember, any questions you have as complicated or stupid the wonderful mod team and I will answer them in any comment or mod mail (check the siderbar!) Thanks! :)
