Hi! I believe the Construction Cape's perk deserves to be redesigned from its current state of allowing a player to teleport to any PoH portal 5 times a day. This is for several reasons which I will outline below:
- Construction is a skill which receives no inherit benefit from leveling (unlike combat skills, prayer, and gathering skills).
- Construction has numerous (large) boosts at its disposal, which are easy to make use of (as likely a player will only need to boost once to build all the components outside their level.
- Construction is quite an expensive skill.
Because of these disincentives, there is very little incentive for players to reach level 99 (except for the cape itself) - in fact, although construction is one of the fastest buyable skills to train, it is the LEAST POPULAR 99, behind even Runecrafting. I think that a redesigned cape effect could provide this incentive. Here are some possible effects:
- Infinite teleports to your own house (the simplest possibility).
- Infinite teleports to any PoH portal.
- Gain the abilities/interaction of a PoH portal, letting you go directly into a players house of your choosing (providing of course, that their house is open).
- Allowing you to load your cape with teleport to house runes/tabs which then allow you to expend them with a right click (this would save no money and would merely act as a convenience and inventory space saver, similar to the prayer cape's ability.
I think that any of these would make 99 construction more useful in the eyes of the players and would hopefully help bring the skill back from its place of unpopularity. I would love your suggestions and to hear what you think, thanks!
