How important is agility for runecrafting?

I've heard that runecrafting is a very good way to make money at the moment but all of the guides I look up on the subject mention that i should have very high / max agility before starting the skill so that i can gain xp more efficiently.
How true is this? My agility is only level 30 at the moment and its not an extremely exciting skill..
Do you guys know of any other good money making skills? Thanks!
