OK, so first off let me say that I enjoyed this show. Really, I did. There was one recurring sentiment that bothered me though. Maybe I'm heartless or I'm out of touch with teenage mindsets or something, but...
...every time someone in the "group" says something along the lines of "we can't let the tapes get out" I immediately thought, "why the #%& not?!"*.
Your lives will be "ruined"?? Seriously? Only a few of the people who'd listened to the tapes through most of the show actually did anything that could be criminally actionable on them (Tyler, Sheri, Justin). I mean, most of them were basically crappy people for sure, but nothing so bad that the tapes had to be protected at all costs or that they couldn't get out or they'd all be "ruined".
Am I just blind? Am I missing something? I just find it really stretches my suspension of disbelief to think that none of the kids save those 3 would've have listened to the tapes then immediately taken them to their parents or the police. I just don't understand their motivation to maintain the secrecy. Especially after they would've found out about Bryce's crimes. It doesn't make sense to me. I kept thinking that by the end we must find out something really terrible/illegal that they all did, but that never happens.
Overall though it was a fun show and I enjoyed watching it very much.
