This is really geared towards people who’ve played for a number of years but how often or when did you change rackets? Or have you played with yours forever?
If you did change, what changes did you make (not just model but aspects of the racket)?
For me, I had a heavy Wilson 6.1 (355g) that I used in college. When I came back to the game, I found it was way too heavy so I went light Gravity MP (285g). But since I’ve been playing a lot more recently, my muscles and tendons have developed and I’ve found the downsides of having a racket that’s too light (not as much plow through especially against big hitters and servers).
I went through a racket demo session and tried a bunch of rackets and settled on a VCore 95. I didn’t like some of the thicker beamed rackets that had too much power. I found myself spray balls out of the court. I was surprised how big the sweet spot was on the VCore 95 and I had great control. The runner up was the Gravity Pro which is the heavier one in the line of my current racket.
