So brand new to the platform and pretty new to rifle shooting and Reddit in general. Of course I want to do the most difficult thing and start off by doing a full buildout of the 1022. BTW I’m in MA if that helps. So no large mags 😭.
I know I could get a couple factory 1022’s for what I’ll spend, but I think this is part of the fun of this platform. Hopping to keep it around the $1k marker. Under is always better and I’m in no rush to complete it. It makes it feel like a smaller purchase if you spread it out. Haha
Any suggestions from this great community would greatly appreciated. If I’m missing anything let me know as well! I know I may get (or will get) flamed or whatever for my choices and that’s all good to. It’s all part of the fun.
Here is where I want to start my journey: Barrel: GMR SS 18” bull barrel (already purchased)
Receiver: Faxon Rimfire FF-22 Receiver Kit for 10/22 (I want to go this route since all the parts are included) Or BRN-22 STRIPPED RECEIVER FOR RUGER® 10/22 ( will almost the same when adding pins etc)
Bolt: Tandemkross Spartan Skeletonized Charging Handle for Ruger® 10/22 KrossFire Bolt for Ruger10/22
Trigger assembly: timney trigger Or Volquartsen trigger Or KIDD SINGLE STAGE TRIGGER UNIT
Stock: TAC-HAMMER® RM4 RIFLE STOCK FOR RUGER 10/22 Or KRG bravo stock for 10/22
Any other suggestions of stocks? I know the RM4 is 1/2 the price of the KRG. Need some opinions or other options. The KRG is on the top of the budget and I know there are some stocks that can get up there so anything lower $$ than the KRG would be great.
