So, to preface, before I got into keto, I read a book called "The Mood Cure", and it ended up being HUGELY helpful to me, in terms of managing my pain and energy levels. I would say that the supplement regimen I developed and keto are the two things that keep me going in life (besides the usual no-brainers, like getting enough sleep, exercise/stretching, taking some time every day to decompress).
For the last month or so, I have been having killer sweetness cravings. Which is SO ANNOYING because I really absolutely cannot go over my carbs, because keto controls my pain, and too many carbs do horribly painful things to my body. So I can't just go have a piece of fruit (or more than a tiny bit of fruit), or even necessarily something like a carrot. It's been really annoying, but I do have Lily's chocolate and I love me some super-dark chocolate, so I've been having some of that daily, but I've really been running up against my macros PLUS the fact that I keep having a craving has been driving me nuts.
Then today I vaguely remembered that when I was developing my supplement regimen a la The Mood Cure there had been some supplement that was supposed to help with sweetness cravings (among other things, but craving sweetness was a possible symptom of needing it). I looked it up, it's Glutamine, and that's one of the ones that I bought, tried out, and ultimately didn't think helped me much, so I discontinued using it.
I pulled it back out and tried taking it again today, and it is DEFINITELY helping. So I think I'm going to go back to taking it again, at least for a little while, and see how it does.
Just wanted to throw that out there, in case anybody else is having a persistently annoying sweetness craving - its really helping me!
