For example: I really love prosciutto di parma ham. I could wrap myself in it and munch down TONS of it. But it's really expensive and I do not want to seem like a schmock for liking the most expensive stuff and so I pretend like I don't really like it that much.

Especially around my dad because when I say that I like something, then there will be TONS of it the next time I visit him. Don't get me wrong, it's really cute of him but I do not want him to pay 10€ for a little bit of ham that is only for me...
