The plot: An introverted woman quits her real estate job to work for a Parisian bookstore that gives away books for free to strangers. She has to develop her intuition for which people need which book. The bookstore owner is a single father to a daughter who dies after surgery. The main character then finds the girl's mother (who if I remember correctly is Iranian living elsewhere in France) and reunites the daughter with her mother.
After finding the mother, the main character restores a bus and takes the bookstore on the road, starting out with a mission to find the relative of a former bookstore employee who committed suicide and give this relative her recipe book (I think it was a recipe book, at least).
This was a fairly contemporary book for adults I read only a few months ago and unfortunately did not write down the title/author. It was an English translation of a French novel that I think was written by a female author.
Thank you in advance for any help! It was beautifully written and I wish I could find it.
