Just got engaged!

I got engaged last week to the love of my life and could not be happier. We are both in our early 20’s (22 and 23), are full time students and working. By our wedding we will have both graduated but money is obviously tight. Both of our family have mentioned they’d like to help financially, but money is something I struggle talking about. I see it as a private matter. So my question is how did you go about asking family for how much they would like to contribute?
