My Old Coach Is More Of A Child Than I Am
Post Body

I’m 20 years old and 3 months ago was promoted to a TL position after 2.5 years at Walmart. I had been a frontend associate for that time and when I promoted I went to a department I knew nothing about. So on top of learning to become an efficient leader (even though I feel the leader part wasn’t the part I struggled with) I was also learning a completely new department and how to merchandise and fix a destroyed department.

Well despite not having proper and thorough training, my coach decided to demote after not seeing improvement in 3 months. Even though I had been making improvements and the other TLs thought I was doing really well. I essentially just wasn’t making the progress my coach wanted to see.

Anyway, I went back to the frontend since I know it so well.

In the week I’ve been back on the front my old coach has essentially been pretending that I don’t exist. I said good morning to her and she just walked by even though I greeted her by name and she was looking directly at me. Today I was in the self checkout with another associate who has been there significantly less time than I have (a decent time but not as long as me) and asked her to do something for her. I explained to her that we couldn’t do that anymore because we no longer have the cashier keyboard at the sco. I would have understood had I been with a customer or on the other side of the checkout. But we were standing right next to each other and she specifically asked for the other associate. Not just in general.

It just seems so childish to me that she’s acting like this. It’s not only rude but super disrespectful. I know that the two of us didn’t get along and that she had grown tired of me making mistakes (because I’d only been in position 3 months and had little to no training). I’ve tried to be civil and polite with her despite finding being demoted unfair and probably still will since I’m a respectful person. But the way she’s treating me is ridiculous.

TL;DR: The Coach that demoted me from my TL position is purposefully ignoring me when I greet her or when she’s asking a favor in the sco I’m working in and I think it’s super childish behavior
