Hi there ! Iâve worked here at walmart for 4 years, and I wanted to express my opinion on this subject, post switching jobs from OPD to the remodel crew. I was fired from my position in OPD because of âoccurrencesâ. In reality itâs directly a result of me holding my coach and team leads to a higher standard than they want to be at. Metrics were not being met so i consistently voiced my concerns to him and the managers in my area. Our coach took this as me trying to âpretendâ iâm a team lead and tell others what to do including him when âi should be focused on my individual metricsâ and I got fired for occurrences. Everyone else (over 20 associates) has OVER 5, gossiping, lallygaging, also stealing freight and time, yet numerous ethics complaints and reports to our market managers leads to my termination. After talking to the store lead she moved me over to the logistics division of Walmart to remodel my store. She understood my argument of how I was the only occurrence marked person to be fire. Remodeling and logistics is a separate division of Walmart that works directly with and under cooperate HQ. These leads explained that as long as communication and contact was made about an occurrence that they would be taken care of. After talking to these people, some have earned hundreds of occurrence points but only have 0 people of that communication. Why canât all stores have these high standards and truly listen, and care about the individual employees situation. Statistically weâre bound to have more than 5 life changing events a year that may require a day of focus, so why is it shunned upon to have that within a 6 month period. These home office cooperate people really showed that they will always be an event in your life that will prevent you from working, if you work hard youâll be taken care of, and that has work really can be rewarded. The way these people act (even though theyâll be held to a higher standard than store level,) really reveals to me that you can work you ass off for his company and youâll be rewarded greatly. But managers at store level have full power to take advantage of you and do whatever they please because itâs YOUR income at stake, not theirs.
