How do I know a pressing?

Post Body
For the last few months, since getting back into LPs (I refuse to call them “vinyl” or “vinyls” - call me old), I’ve been seeing a lot of albums in Discogs that list an item by pressing, e.g., Terre Haute or Monarch. Looking at my albums, how do I tell the pressing, if I’m trying to accurately catalogue? Is there a code in the dead wax? Fine print on the album cover? And, is there a best way to know a good pressing from a not so good, or is that just a long Google search? Thanks!
