I bought some brand new vinyl records, still shrink wrapped. They were stacked vertically (not 100% vertically, leaning just slightly) and my cat tipped them over in the opposite direction of what they were leaning on. They didnt fall flat onto the ground, there was no big WAM!! They slowly tipped over against an empty cardboard box and now I'm worried the cardboard may have had too hard and rough of an edge, and may have potentially pressed too much sharp pressure onto the record, causing damage. I am very, VERY knew to record collecting, havent even picked up my turntable yet but doing so this week. But I'm super paranoid about causing damage, from what I've been reading online it doesnt sound hard at all to damage them. I'm hoping that the album sleeves they're in kept them protected... Should I be worried? Does it sound like I caused damage? I'm trying to do everything right and I'm pissed off because these are brand new and I havent even opened them yet.
