How to get a payment back from Venmo for a unique situation

Hey all. I’m getting married soon and I also just contacted COVID (I’m fine). Out of caution to not getting others sick, my bride’s bridesmaids cancelled her bridal shower and rescheduled for a few weeks later. Payment to the venue was made on Venmo. The venue, at first agreed to return the $ due to the circumstances but then only agreed to send 40% back. There is no contract whatsoever. They’d like to dispute the Venmo charge. Any suggestions how to go about it to make sure it’s successful? Thanks for any help you may have to offer.
